Thematic Expert Group (TEG) Meeting on Conversion Area

Objectives:

1. Present and discuss the 1^st draft Timber Legality Definition (TLD) for Conversion Area (1^st draft version 1.2).
2. Understand the rationale for the revision of Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) regulations on supply chain control and a respective guideline from Department of Forestry (DOF) and discuss the revision plan:

• Regulation No.0112/MAF 2008, on Logging and Post-Logging Cleaning in the Reservoir Area of a Hydropower Dam, dated 25 November 2008
• Decision No. 0116/MAF 2007 Decision of the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry regarding the procedure for measuring log, tree stump, tree burl and log quality grading
• 0962/DOF Guideline concerning the management of timber log transport from cutting areas to Log yard II

3. Preparation for the Joint Expert Meeting and the first FLEGT VPA face-to-face negotiation.
